The idea behind
Playing around with several open source hardware desktop manufacturing boards we encountered we encountered the same technical approach all the time. Starting from open source desktop software step-pulse-generators to arduino or embedded MCU based systems all had one in common. Steps where calculated by a pc or similar, sent to a embedded board via formerly parallel port, nowadays USB and then executed by an embedded solution.
Our Vision is to separate the desktop manufacturing device from the computer and connect it via LAN. So you just have to send your manufacturing data to a remote printer or milling machine and get it manufactured there independentl of you PC or MAC.
