Future Versions

We got a lot of positive feedback for the T-Bone. But some are not completely satisfied with the current shape or feature set. To grab and bundle these inputs, we decided to start a discussion about preferred features.

Some ideas are:

  • Different shape (rectangular, fitting into standard housing)
  • Integrated main controller (BeagleBone compatible?)
  • Other connectors
  • More/less axis. More power per axis
  • More in-/outputs
  • Hardcore DIY concept (only THT components, SMD-only parts on sub-boards with pinheader)

    Future version suggestion – Arduino Due/ STM32F429 compatible, RepRap Pro/ Marlin2 firmware support, Expansion board ( 3-4 TMC 5031), Wi-Fi and more. I do like your choice for 4A drivers for the axis motors, its perfect. I got a quad extruder for Duet Duex4 board and the 2A drivers totally suck. Looking forward for your next version.

    More precisely looking forward for :
    12 stepper motor driver (run syncronized, 2 x up to 4 A, 10 x up to 1.5 A), 6 on main board and rest on expansion board. STM32F429 has 6 SPI and Marlin 2 firmware support under development.
    4 high power outputs (for 4 x heatbed, up to 12 A)
    14 inputs for thermistors
    3-5 mid power output (for fans, LEDs, etc)
    2 inputs for incremental encoders or better 3 axis accelerometer input
    Wi-Fi onboard
    Camera module

      The idea was to make the T-Bone stackable. So you can multiply the number of axis connecting several boards on one beagleBone.

    Mega2560 instead of leonardo , more I/O, support for 8 RTD Pt100 , (3x4A + 4×1.5A) drivers, 4x Solid State Relays
